General Motors has decided to replace the iconic Holden Commodore brand in the next five or six years with a new "global" brand. Is this the right move?
It was reported today in The Australian Financial Review that GM's president of international operations in Shanghai Tim Lee has announced the move, saying Holden has to move with the 21st century.
The Holden Commodore is one of the most iconic car brands in the Australian market. Lee has admitted the brand was one of the company's strongest local sellers for several years, but argued the business is now moving away from local models towards global brands.
Do you think this is the right move?
